Is it search engine optimization so very important?
The answer is no if you have a website salary above 50000 euros a month. For the rest of us it is very important.
Gaining your traffic on internet is always giving a headech to webmasters. Becouse the search engines make about 60% of all internet traffic, there is a lot of submission and optimization tools out there but few of them have any purpose. Submiting your website to only 5 or 6 major search engines or directories will get your site listed in all other less known search engines. So where is the point?
The point is in links. No search engine will get your site listed in top becouse you have good words or keywords. That is becouse every major search engine will get your site listed in top of results becouse you have good backup links, developed web ring or links in other websites. Every big search engine can only adapt to internet market and focus on what people want to search and browse. So every site that is listed in #1 or #2 place have already gained traffic by creating links in other sites, link sites and popular internet forum spots. So buying the right softwares can for sure get your site listed fast above #10 position. But you must be sure that your link of the site is very popular. One thing that also gets noticed is that
many major search engine have their own code of how to connect and show results when user makes a search.
The goal is to show best result in a short time. So for the search engine it is very important to have simplicity, his own code of showing the results and also to have the ability of showing content that is more likely to be in first 10. For example I have also noticed that some search engines are not objective from the aspect of showing the right results. So there is a lot of cenzored sites out there that there is no way that they will get in the first 10 of any search results.
If your site is linking to the similar sites there is more chance for you to have better listing in those search results. When one search engine loses his objectivity users will recognize that and they will go search on another one. Becouse the internet is getting bigger and bigger you have to understand how important is search engine market.
Concerning optimization for search engines you will probably have to submit a lot of links of your site, submit it in public places, recommend it to other users, make a content for your site that has many links and content that will have many connections with the content that you are trying to sell or promote.
Concerning keywords I think that keywords will not have much connection with search engine optimization (SEO) and I believe that in the future the best tacticts in website promotion will be directory listing & reciprocial link building.
